Dear Dalai Lama,
My name is Tara McFadden. I am a senior biology pre-medicine major at the Xavier University of Louisiana. This letter is regarding the growing epidemic facing our world today. I am addressing the problem of the mistreatment of children in countries, especially those that are underprivileged. Around the world millions of children are being abused sexually and/or physically. They are being exploited due to the fact that they don’t have anyone to stand up for them. These children die every year by the hundreds of thousands without a single thought by those that have the power to do something to help them. It is not my belief that these powerful men and women do not care, but more that they are not aware of the problem or to its severity. I hope to set up a task force that will educate the public of this growing problem and hopefully get them to sponsor children in these countries. Eventually I plan to take my plan is to go nationwide in hope of taking it worldwide. I was writing in hopes of obtaining help from your organization in implementing my goal in the form of formal letter of acknowledgement and support and/or fiscal aid. Any form of aid would be beneficial and very much appreciated as well needed. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Tara McFadden
