If you watch the news for only one day, you would see all the problems that we have in the world today. There will always be crimes that occurred, children lacking education, and poverty. Crimes would be one of the hardest problems to stop. How would we change the way people think and the actions that they perform without getting ourselves into danger? It is not easy at all. Each person that commits a violent crime has different problems. Some may do it for revenge, anger, or just for their own benefit. You would always see men and women put into jail day after day but the killings and stealing doesn’t ever end. Some may be released after a few days from bail and still go out into the world and do harm to others. There is probably no one that would say there is no crime in this world. Because of this, many lives are lost, innocent people, children, and people of all ages suffer.

Another problem in the world is the lack of education. Having the right education can be useful, beneficial, and essential to our way of living. When children don’t go to school, they are more likely not able to understand the issues of the world, not care about important things such as getting a good job and they won’t have the knowledge of sciences, religion, English, and our history. Like my teacher used to say, “If you don’t know your past, then you won’t have a future.” Education is so important in our world today but there are so many who lack the chance to receive the education they need. This is mainly due to poverty and the minimum amount of teachers and schools available. There are many places where there is no chance at all for children to be into school because they don’t have the money to build a school, buy supplies needed, or pay tutors and teachers to come help. Other cities may have the necessities required, but there may still be a lack of teachers. Certain schools have teachers that don’t really care and they let their students run wild but they would still let the students pass to the next grade level. We do not need teachers like this. We need teachers who care and want to help. When you think about it, to have teachers with degrees, children will need their education so they can reach their goal to become teachers later on in life so they can be able to help the generation after them.

Poverty is also an important matter that we have in the world today. It is one issue that is causing the death and suffering for many people. I’m not sure how poverty came about but it needs to be dealt with. Some countries seem to be in a depression and they can’t get better. There are so many people here in the United States who doesn’t have jobs or families so they spend their life begging for change or for food. I don’t believe people choose to be homeless unless they do it as a scam for money. Homeless people needs better shelter and they need chances to improve their life. I think countries that are outside of the U.S. is worse because of their bad environment and these places like the third-world countries need a lot of help. Many people I know, including myself, take advantage of the food, clothes, and materials that we have. When a new style of clothing comes out, we tend to throw the old clothes away and spend hundreds of dollars on new clothing. We sometimes order too much food and throw them away. We also take advantage of the money that we have. Many would buy toys, games, clothes, and accessories without any worries, but they would be hesitant to give a dollar to charity.

Out of these three problems, I think I can personally contribute to the education program. I believe greatly that everyone needs some type of education so I am willing to help. I want to not only tutor children but also adults. Some adults are willing to learn and have the interest. They just need someone to offer them that guidance. The student can also teach the teacher some things. I think I can do well teaching because I like the thought of going to school and learning. It is what I’m used to and I can take that knowledge and put it into good use for others. I think that I one person who can give up some time for others will make a big difference.
