In most mythologies and religinons, an account of the origin of the world, as well as of the human race and all the other creatures on Earth. There is a remarkable similarity in the creation stories as recounted in the holy books of major religions, and in the myths and legends of ethnic groups, such as Native Americans and Native Australians. Every civilization has a theory on how everything was created. Human by nature are curious and they always want to know whats going on and they always want to give theories onto everything. I found the most interesting creation stories with the Native Americans stories. Their stories are always about some type of animals or the land resulting in their creation. According to the lore of numerous tribes, animals walked the earth prior to man. They helped to shape, teach, feed, and spiritually nurture the people who later lived with them. Animals played a vital role in the life of the Native people, and honoring their spirits could bring blessings, life balance, and abundance. Many Native Americans believed in the special medicine, or power, that each animal held. The mythic beasts were often given the highest respect that could be bestowed on a spirit: the role of creator. When an individual or tribe needed assistance, it called upon an animal’s knowledge, power, and spirit. To this day, animals are considered sacred by the Native American peoples and are appealed to in times of need. I love indian creation stories because they are original and its interesting and it shows more of a creative side with indians for anyone to come up with the stories they come up with. Indian stories keep me grasping for more, because they are so unpredictable and there is always a moral to the storie. The indian storie that i like the most would have to be the storie about the coyote and the magician.
