The tabernacle is a portable shrine used by the Hebrews for worship during their wanderings in Sinai. It was a rectangular tent covered with a curtain of goat’s hair and a layer of animal skins and roofed with a ceiling of linen tapestry decorated with cherubs. Inside the Tabernacle the space was divided into two rooms: the outer room was the Holy Place, and the inner was the Holy of Holies, where God was believed to be present. The Holy of Holies contained the Ark of the Covenant, above which was a slab of gold believed to be the throne of God. After the Hebrews settled Canaan, there was no further need for the Tabernacle. Eventually its relics were transferred to the temple built by Solomon in Jerusalem. In the Christian church, a tabernacle is a receptacle in which the blessed sacrament is reserved for the Eucharist, or a recess used for spiritual contemplation. I think that the authors emphasized on the tent so much because of how they decorated the tent in such way as to make it a sight that was of holiest. The tent was an unusual sighting and it was symbolizing the utmost respect given to God with the many furs and other such decorations with also the intention to give God a sacrifice. The furs and other similar decorations were to symbolize that the tent was a place for sacrifice to the one and only God himself. The atonement in religion, is the process by which a sinner seeks forgiveness from and reconciliation with God,through an act of expiation such as prayer, fasting or good works. In Christian theology, Jesus Christ atoned for the sins of the world by his sacrifice on the cross. Jews observe Yom Kippur, their most sacred feast, as a day of repentance. Liberation theology is of protestant background in which it circles are recognized as an important school of thought, with thought processes that are in context with neo-Orthodoxy, and process theology. I think that African Americans should have an liberation theology in which that states something to get them out of their crisis and into a better situation. The black community should work through the church to help combat their social, political, and economic oppression. That way through the church can work through blacks with poverty, education, and community clean ups. I suppose an agenda which favors an accomodation in a way that African Americans could come to terms with the majority as a whole. That way this agenda could come to terms with the majority and they could accommodate their schools, communities, and money managements towards the majority who have accomplished the American dream in mass numbers. I think their liberation theology should start off with the community, I think that curfews need to be strictly set and everyone who does not have a job needs to be inside while people who are contributing to the societyand who are working can stay out late. Police also need to monitor every street every so often to make sure the peace is being enforced with out infraction to the law. Parks and landscaping should be accommodated to making the community look nice. After the community’s are fixed then the school systems should be laid down in appropriate areas around or near libraries in such parks. The teachers who are in the school should have urban setting training as well as having rural exposure so that they are experienced enough to deal with any situation and circumstances. O tolerance should also be enforced in the school system to weed out the bad crowds that can easily destroy a school and what it stands for. Also their need for security officers around certain areas of the schools monitoring students where abouts and such so they can’t skip or destroy school property. Next every student needs to be enrolled in some type of extracurricular activities to keep them busy if they don’t have a job. Now that the schools are in place and in good standings and running, money management programs need to be presented to both groups of blacks both young and old. Everyone should also have a savings fund presented when born to when they get out of school, and a financial advisor should be consulted upon once the young reach high school and get into college where they can build bank accounts. After all of these accommodations are met, the system should work. Crime will go done giving rise to opportunity and increasing land values and jobs should rise, and the black community and blacks themselves can start rising as whole to new levels of wealth and educational stances. That should lower crime, bring land value up, and get a lot of blacks from going into the criminal system which is extremelly hard to get out of when brought into. The components i spoke of can work through the church in a way to bring peoples values up and maybe then will people begin to start going to church and looking to God for the simple fact that the church brought in such success through God’s word. Feminist criticism arises in conjunction with sociopolitical feminism in which it critiques patriarchal language and literature by exposing how these reflect masculine ideology. Feminist criticism basically concerns itself with stereotypical representations of genders. I think that the feminist critcism brought about on Judiths behalf would emphasize on the fact that women can do as much as men can, and the story was an example of what women can do. Its such an ironic tale in which she heroically rescues the Isralite city of Bethulia from siege by the Assyrians. Ruth is a young Moabite widow. Ruth’s decision was to settle in Isralite territory and her eventual marriage to the wealthy boaz, whereby she becomes the great grandmother of Israel’s greatest leader, King David. Esther was a queen who averted the killing of her people, the jews, by the Persians in Babylon. She persuaded the Persian King to ignore his grand vizier Haman, who advocated their extermination. Haman’s overthrow is celebrated at the feast at the Jewish feast of Purim. I think that the Queen esther was a more positive role because she saved thousands of her people from genocide or from being wiped out. While Ruth had one of the greatest leaders in her generation she really did anything but be a woman and carrie on her genes while Ether did a lot.
