Week # 14 “A” for Ashley

710 words by abickham

A is for Ashley, but I believe I’m one hundred percent correct on why I deserve an A.

A = Nearly everyone in the class would agree that your project considerably improved the world. Well written Blog entries documented the extensive work that went into this project. Writing continuously demonstrated a firm understanding of the readings, lectures, and discussion topics. Writing showed the student’s ability to think critically and to clearly communicate. Blogged more than the required 1500 words every week. Project and writing fully exemplified Xavier’s mission.
B = Project had a large scope and lasting duration. Writing showed that the student did all of the reading and understood the lectures and discussion topics. Writing showed the student’s ability to think critically and to clearly communicate. Quality writing was free from grammatical errors. Student blogged more than the required 1500 words every week.
C = Blogged the required 1500 words every week. Spelling and grammar had occasional problems. Project contained much theory about what student would do, but little concrete action that the student did do. Project scope was not very broad, and the project’s duration might be short lived. Showed an overall good grasp of the course material, though there was evidence that once in a while the student did not fully understand an article or a lecture. At times the writings summarized articles and topics but did not show signs of critical thinking and reflection.
D = Blogged less than 1500 words every week. Many blog entries had grammatical problems and were poorly organized. Student had to frequently be reminded to post entries. Project to improve the world had little scope and short-lived duration, and there was not much evidence to show that the student actually implemented it. Many blog entries showed little understanding of the course material, giving the impression that the student was not completing all of the reading or participating in course discussions. Many times the writing lacked clear indications of critical thinking.
F = Blogged less than 60 percent of the requirements. Many grammatical and organizational problems. Little evidence that the student actually implemented a project to improve the world. Little evidence that the student understood the reading assignments.

After reviewing the requirements of the grade of an A. I believed I have accomplished them all! At the midterm I had a grade of a B. I was so upset because I thought “ I stayed up all night to complete all that was required and got a B.” I went to Dr. Homan office and he stress the fact that I didn’t complete 1500 words on some of my blogs and he also told me I had some grammatical errors. At that point I immediately went over all my blogs entries and where he left comments I revised and added more information. I change my format and made one blog for each week so that I won’t confuse Dr. Homan or myself (I don’t need nothing in the way of me making an A).
The blogs that were after midterm have adequate information and displays the objectives of an A. My project has been a success and I proud to state that . I thank Dr. Homan for challenging me to impact the world in a positive way.
I completed both bible mysteries and presented factual information (member of group two). I never was called on to answer the reading for the day but I read each topic the morning before class in my Bible for Dummies book. I completed all tasks in Theology 1120 and proud to say I’ve done so.
Last but definitely not least, I remembered what Dr. Homan said the first day of class. He stated that the key to passing in college is to attend class everyday. I DIDN’T MISS ONE DAY OF CLASS. I attended every class and for that reason I feel if Dr. Homan thought I should get a B then my attendance should boost me to an A. I enjoyed this class and will recommend Dr. Homan to others. J

I don’t need the max of 750 words to complete this blog because I have expressed the reason throughly on why I deserve an A :)
