Week # 15 I don’t need 1500 + words anymore!
352 words by abickham
The best part of Theology 1120 is the teaching of the Bible. In this class I was challenged to write/ typed a Blog of 1500 words or more each week. Dr. Homan made us a part of the class by having to complete a Bible Mystery twice this semester. We were required to look up information and teach what we have learned in front of the class. I glad to say that I have broaden my knowledge about the Bible and Jesus. There were many thing that didn’t know and wasn’t aware of that exist today. I glad to say that I have learned plenty information about Jesus . I also found out some information wasn’t told the right way. Well we all would probably agree that the Bible is somewhat off with date and time. For example, Sunday is not the actually church day. In the beginning of the bible church was on a Saturday. Theology broaden my horizons in a positive way.
The worst part of this class is that I have to complete a Blog with one hundred and fifty words or more. In the end I find blogs are better than taking test, but at some point you just get tired of making sure you have complete a project part and reading/lectures/discussions.
I would agree that courses like this is should be a part of Xavier’s curriculum. It will help students in everyday life. Just like we take some subject that does us no good in our major, Theology will stick with us for life. Learning about Jesus is good for anybody, and taking a course that challenge you to impact the world just prepares a person for life.
I’m a Chemistry PrePharmacy major and it doesn’t affect my major directly. It just gives me something to talk to older patience about when they come to the Pharmacy ( we all know every old person loves to talk) . After writing 388, 061 words in these blogs, I now believe that I have passed Theology 1120 with the grade of an A.
