First of all I wanted everyone to know that the prophets that we speak of when it comes to religion these prophets are messengers of God. Basically what this mean is God’s words, God’s message live through these people. Each prophet seems to be in my views to be hand picked from God. The roles they play are God gives them a vision or some sort of message in their dreams. The four major prophets of the eight-century are Isaiah, Hosea, Amos and Micah. As I recall I believe that it was only the prophet Isaiah who was willing to do this job voluntarily because being a prophet is not easy. Prophets back in that day and age could easily be put to death for preaching the word of God. The prophet Isaiah message was “God will judge you on how you treat others.” The second prophet Hosea message was “to show Israel’s how they have infidelity to God by worshipping other Gods.” The third prophet Amos message was “to warn the people of their social injustice towards the poor and und erprivileged.” The fourth prophet was Micah and his message was “because of their exploitation of the poor Israel and Judah will one day be destroyed.” In my opinion being a prophet sucks, especially for the prophet Hosea because he has to get married with a prostitute and on top of that get cheated on by the prostitute to get God message across to the people. What a brave sacrifice made by the prophet Hosea, I see why he didn’t want to be God’s prophet.
