PAUL’S MESSAGE TO THE ROMANS
Paul’s letters was one of the primary foundations upon which the Christian religion grew. His reacquaintance of th later Christians with the death and ressurection of Christ gave the contemporary Christians s fundamental value to include in their doctrine. His contributions to Christianity was divided into teo main areas, namely , the church epistles and the pastoral epistles. The legend about the whereabouts of Paul after the dissemination of the early apostles caused by the incessant maryrdom is unclear. Although it is certain that he later arrived at Italy to spread the gospel in Rome, heavily guarded and escorted to the courts of the Cesar, a dual legend exists thereafter. the first one has it that he later died in Rome, persecuted and killed under Nero at about 64 CE and yet another legend evidenced by his own later writtings suggests that he lived on till about 67 CE. In any case, the letter ( message) he wrote to the Romans fall under the church’s epistles. In the letter, the central theme of the letter was the re affirmation of the fact that the Lord wants salvation for all men, formost, the jews then the gentiles and of course all other creed.
PAUL VS JAMES
The central dissarray in the beliefs of both men was the primary factor that led to their dissagreement. According to legend, their ideas differed in the area of salvation. You see, according to James, salvation and its attainment required two primary ingredients namely, faith and good action in accordance to the words of the lord and the other ingredient being plain ol faith. Accordingly, one could not attain salvation if one of these ingredients was lacking. This was contrary to what Paul believed and taught. Accoridng to him, salvation was only a product of faith and one needed faith primarily to attain it acordingly. This dual opinion possibly would be contentious enough to spark off some measure of disagreement between both parties. Further reasons for dissarray would therefore advance from here accordingly. In any case, i think that their dissagreement need not hold , considering that both poarties are merely seeking the same ends, just doing so through different means, the ends here being the attainment of salvation.
