Week 15 Reflection

605 words by Johnpaul

This is it! my reflection of the class, …… where do i start? Ok, i know, i shall save the best for the last and speak of the challenges.
Boy, was it a challenge. the worst part of the class may be summarised as thus; “relentless pursuant of several cohesive ways to hold thought together while maintaining the required limitation on the quantity of blog entry” It was not easy, coming up with strong narratives to support my views and ensuring that it is not ridden with either gramatical or mechanical errors. It has been a challenge as well coming up with 1500 words every week , in addition to other class work that one has to do. Considering that i am trying to wrap up my academic pursuance here in Xavier, iam taking a considerable amount of course load and incorporating this class and its requirements was not easy. More so, my non performance to the best of my abiltity was also a constraint , although i d know i did remarkably well, i also know that i still could have done better, i guess that is where the human limitation kicks in and the attainment of perfection proves illusive. in any case, it was a challenge, especially considering that it is a freshman level class, one could not miss a certain number of classes and with other engagements, it also proved hard. i did not enjoy my course objectives as much as i enjoyed the class discussions themselves. the other aspects that i enjoyed the least include the fact that we had no formal tests or exams and this, i am sure is a personal opinion issue. However, i trully prefer a class where ones knowledge can be assessed adequately via a written test of some sort. It s absense limited the avenues for one to prove his ability. It limited it to only the bible mysteries, blogging and class discussions, of which i liked the last part the most. I enjoyed very little of the Bible Mysteries.
The best part of the class like i mentioned earlier remains the class discussions, in my own opinion, they were intense and very influential. potentially revolutionary and insightful to mention a few and i enjoyed participating in them ans sharing whatever knowledge i had, especially as it relates to where i am from. i also enjoyed the way my tutor, Dr. Homan taught the class, it was very engaing and interesting. i also enjoyed the audience and the students, the critics and the supporters, the participants and the entire students contributions as well.
I strongly think that such a class should be wel inscribed in the school curricl=ullum for obvious reasons. I ti s a catholic school and therefore should accord students the chance to such relevant lessons. it is also an analyticall class and therefore will help students in their criticall thinking abilities. the potentials obtainable from the class is numerous, the class enhances critical knowledge that may be apploied in everyday life. its application lies not only in the class room or for mere logic but may be very usefull intheological settings where Biblical studies thrive. As amatter of fact, this study should also be taught in the outside world, in high schools, tertiarry institutions as well as in colleges of higher learning and post graduate studies. the reason is simple; it application is profound and has an enormous relevane both for mere criticall analysis and for other applications.
In true reflection, after writting approximately 24800 words, i have become very much acquainted the true potency of unbiased, critical reasoning as well as many other profound knowledge.
