MY PROJECT
146 words by Uyen Ho
What I am basically going to do with my partner, Sally Le, is to knit or crochet for babies and children. The clothes will be made and donated to the West Jefferson Medical Center so that the clothes or accessories will be given to babies. In this case, parents who are unable to provide necessities for their newborns due to financial problems will not have to worry. And, of course, we want the infants to be warm and comfortable. Hats, scarves, and baby outfits will be made. We will also try to raise money by doing several bake sales, and the money will go towards the materials for knitting and crocheting. Hopefully, my partner and I will be able to recruit more people, such as our family and friends, into joining our project. So, in the end, we want to help out infants and their parents.

Uyen, I think this is a really good idea. A lot of older women knit all the time. If you could get the word out to them, this could become something that reaches outside of New Orleans and all over the country.

This is a great project. What other things you can do is setup a clothes drive. You can print out fliers and tell people what you are doing. You can also setup boxes around Xavier for people to donate the clothes. Good luck

I like your project. It’s a great idea. I’ve been in their position once. I have a few sets of brand new baby clothes that’s sitting in my house. I can donate them to your project. You can try to contact local department stores and advertise about your project. I’m pretty sure they’ll donate some baby clothes to your project.

This is a cool project. Not only can you crochet for the kids, but you can also collect toys and donate it. This can really help out the parents with financial troubles.

Making clothes for babies is a great idea. This will help many poor parents deal with one less aspect of raising a child. You can probably ask some sponsors (like Babies R’ Us, or some other babies store) to provide some clothes for you this year; and if your lucky, they may even sponsor the foundation you are helping every year.

Great Project Uyen. Its nice to see someone provide a basic necessity for an infant whose parents are not capable of providing do to what ever financial reasons. This is a terrific fund raising idea. Are you going to some how get other universities and hospitals networked into more projects like this one?… If a project like this one begins now, do you think the world would definitely began to realize that infants are the ones who will shape our future… But once again, this is a great project for helping struggling families and tiding persons together.

Your idea is really unique. Maybe you can recruit some volunteers to help with your bake sales. How much do you guys plan on knitting? You can knit socks and decorative t-shirts and hats. Maybe even throw in a scarf for the parent, since winter is approaching. Good luck and I hope this project becomes a success!

I really like your idea. Since my grandmother was a semstress, I love the idea of you knitting and creating warm things for the infants. Also I am really glad to see that you are going to take the time and knit the clothes. It shows a lot of patience and dedication. I hope that your project turns out to be successful.

This is a great idea. There are many mothers who do not have the money to support their children. Knitting the clothes for the children alllows you to take more of a hands on approach to the project. Good luck with your project. There are alot a young mothers who would greatly appreciate your time and effort.
