Recent estimation said that about 65 million Americans has suffered from high blood pressure. In 2003, 53,000 Americans died from causes relating to high blood pressure. Nearly one in three adults suffers from this disease. In a ten year span from 1993-2003 the rate of death for high blood pressure in Americans rose 29.3 percent. Majority of the population that was affected were African Americans. Within the African-American community, those with the highest rates of hypertensions are more likely to be middle aged or older, less educated, overweight or obese, physically inactive, and to have diabetes. This proves my point which is high blood pressure is a very serious problem that we should look into. The person with this disease do not get it treats early can lead to other complications. This can leads to kidney failure, heart attack and strokes. A reminder, my project for this semester is relating to high blood pressure. With this statistic I am able to focus my projects on a certain people and deal with them. For instance, majority of the people that are diagnosing with high blood pressure are African Americans. With this knowledge in mind I am focusing majority of my project to the African American people. What I can do is post up fliers around their community to warn them about the danger of high blood pressure. I can also setup a place where they can come and get their blood pressure check. Where I want to start is around my family business. The reason I chose this place because around my family business area is very diverse. Majority of the community knows our family so they shop at our store. With there help I might be able to pass the news about high blood pressure and the danger it cause. I can also use the business to setup a place for people to come and get there blood pressure check.
Another place I want to focus my projects on is around school. The reason why I think this is the best place is because Xavier is predominantly an African American school. Using the statistics, the students at Xavier have a very high chance to have high blood pressure. So, I will try to post fliers around campus to warn people about the danger of high blood pressure. With the help of my friends in pharmacy school, I will be able to ask them is what the best treatment for high blood pressure is. I would also ask them to help me setup a drive around campus for any student who wants to get their blood pressure check. Another thing that I want to do is to send a letter to Dr. Francis or any other administrator to see if they want to lend a helping hand. I would try to ask him if he can help us pass the word around to neighboring colleges like Delgado and U.N.O.

Knowing that African American teenager can also be diagnose with high blood pressure. The reasons are teenagers love to eat fast food and drink soft drinks without knowing the danger about it. Eating fast foods cause our level of cholesterol to rise which can leads to high blood pressure. To tackle this problem I will try to send out fliers to these schools. I will also ask my little brother to help passing out the words about high blood pressure to his friends. They might be able to help me pass it to the schools that they go to.
Hopefully this project that I am doing can help lower the rate of high blood pressure.
The Tabernacle is another name means god’s home. God specifically ask Moses to make him a sanctuary according to his instructions. The tent is made of with Acacia woods and was overlay with pre gold inside and outside. The ark of covenant was placed inside the sanctuary. The mercy seat where god will sit on was build placed on top of the ark of covenant. In the ark consists of the two tablets of Ten Commandments, Aaron’s rod, and a cup mana. The ark was also built specifically by gods command. It was made with gold and consists of two cherubs facing each other. A table made of acacia wood was also made to be put in the tent. It was also overlay with gold around it. On the table shall consists of dishes and plates for incense and bowls for drink offering and bread shall always be on the table. These instructions tell us many things about god. He is very specific on how he should live. The way the tent was built represents his greatness. Why not a temple or a castle, the reason is probably because the Israelites were constantly moving. So when they move to a new place they can bring his house along with him. This probably tells us that he wants to be close to his people. His house also separates him from the other gods because he doesn’t need a temple to reside in. The idea of the tent instead of a temple probably means that he doesn’t want his people to work hard on building a temple. A temple will be a burden to the Israelites because at that time they did not even have a home for themselves. They had to wonder in the wilderness for 40 years until they could get to the promise land. This tells us that god is very compassionate being.
The idea of the promise land is problematic because the Israel people believe that this is the land that was promise to them by god. So when they knew that the land was occupied by outsider they will take it back. This leads to war by the Israelites and other neighboring nation. We know that the promise land is very fertile and contain many riches. So, any nations would love to control this region. So the problem with the promise land is that it cause the greediness in people.
