As my project has followed, so far, I am doing a wonderful job with the volunteering work, helping the homeless find a place to sleep, eat, and bath themselves. I and the help of my friends have concluded about 4 families in the last 3 weeks. The problem I am addressing to the public has come to a major problem, I had done some research for the few past weeks, and I came to a site that discussed the problem with poverty. As the whole United States, the rate of children being homeless has rise to the amount where it’s not necessary. They came up with the average of 95,000 children being homeless. Nearly 61,000 of those children lived with their families where there are no food and care, while the rest of the others spend their night in an emergency shelters or motels. Each year, the statistics of poverty rises as our generation grow everyday. Last year by itself, the statistics found that 2,500 sleep in their car or outside of the school streets. The poor can not afford to send their children to a good school, so some of the kids decides to end up and becoming part of gangs because there is a chance for them to be a part of a family. Not being able top get a good education can lead to drop outs in schools. The rate of teens that drop out of high school is outrageous. To assess literal homelessness in the previous year, youth were asked whether they had spent one or more nights in specific types of places. Based on these estimates, researchers estimated the annual prevalence of literal homelessness among this age group to be 1.6 million in the given year.

The reason why I find people are lacking of affordable housing is because the people can’t afford a place to stay and relatives won’t take them in, then that’s how we get an increasing number of homeless and poverty in the United States. The majority that is left is living poor. All throughout the world there is hunger and with this hunger there comes diseases and sickness. From my knowledge of hardship in working, in the United States there is no purpose for any human being in this countries live under the poverty line. Yet there are still people out there who are not trying to get themselves up and find a path that can lead them to a better life. With the help of researchers I found information dealing with homeless people, poverty is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. I originally started out trying to help improve poverty around my city of New Orleans, but poverty is also a huge problem in the United States. Most people think that poverty is mostly in third world countries, but poverty also exists in the United States. There are many cities in the United States where poverty is a big issue. New Orleans is a very good example of the issue of poverty, especially after the devastation of the storm Katrina that was held last year on August 29, 2005. New Orleans had always been a poverty-stricken city. After the storm, more and more people were jobless and needed help from the government to aid their financial situation. Many people have lost their jobs, homes, and all their belongings. Much of the growth is due to new funding and to priorities placed on developing transitional and permanent housing between 1988 and 1996. Now they are in need of more and more help, and that without the help of government they will led to poverty. That is why I and a group of friends decided to work on this project, and help those that we can reach to lead them to a better future. We can’t save the world, but we can save those who are lucky enough to fall back on us. Sometime we hope we can help the United States, but that will be a hard job to do so. Whoever we can help, we know inside that we have succeeded and help others. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061030/lf_nm/life_homeless_dc_1)

God’s house is another way of saying it the Tabernacle, a place where ancient people worship God the father in a huge tent. The Tabernacle was made by Acacia woods with a little simple of gold inside and outside of its walls. Inside of the close walls, there was the ark of covenant consisting of the tablet, known as the Ten Commandments. The outer room of the Tabernacle contains the following things a alter where the priest place the bread and wine, an table where they lay the bread and the priests cloths, and a Golden lamp stand where the priest uses it to pray before an event. In entering the tabernacle there is a strict rule you must follow, if not you will be killed. God is a very strict person; he wants everyone to follow his instruction carefully.

How is the idea of “Promised Land” problematic? From the standpoint of the Israelites, it is understood in the reading of the Canaanites, Cowboys, and Indians written by Robert Allen Warrior. In the story it explains that in the earlier century if you were not a member of the Israelites race, your opinion and statement were not as important and that they are comparing between the American and to Native and Israelites to the Canaanites. The fact that worshipping one God tells how faithful you are with God, so in order for the Israelites to be descended to the promised land, the people must be faithful to God and he/she will be blessed in the Land in which Yahweh will conquer for them. For most of the slavery people of Israel they were delivered by to live up to the covenant as long as they can. With the help of God, if he brings you into the land, it will swipe away all the other nations and it will bring you the power to conquer and rule the rest of the other nations around there. In the word of Yahweh he gave promises to Abraham and Moses to be ready to fulfill the instruction to lead the Israelites into their victory.
