Week 8 Formal Letters
1209 words by ttran24
The criteria of week 8 is to write four formal letters to any four of the most important person that I thought is best suited for my project. Well the four that I picked were President George W. Bush, Governor Kathleen Blanco, Mayor Ray Nagin, and Senator Mary Landrieu. Hopefully these letters will be read and action will be taken.
The first letter will be to President George W. Bush. Of course, he is the best person that will be able to take action because he is the leader of our country and his voice can be heard.
President George Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
Dear President George W. Bush,
My name is Thuan Tran and I am writing this letter on behalf of Xavier University and Dr. Homan. I am currently a sophomore at Xavier University and enrolled in a Theology course, which Dr. Homan is teaching, and also working on a pollution project for this course. Every student at Xavier University has to take a Theology course in order to complete the pre-requisite and graduate or be able to apply to any major at this university. My goal for this project is to hopefully educate everyone about this situation and hopefully they can get an idea on how to help reduce it. Pollution is a big concern to our society and we need more people to get involved in this.
Over the pass year, New Orleans has been going through a lot and with all these construction going on, our city of New Orleans is getting more polluted each day. Therefore, I am writing this letter to inform you about this situation that can have a big impact on our society in the future if nothing is done. I chose to write this letter to you because I believe that your voice can be heard. With your help, our society may become a better place to live in.
Sincerely,
Thuan Tran

African Criticism is a useful tool for Bible Scholars because it showed how authors describe Africa and Africans. In the Bible, Africa was a really rich nation which included Cush, Sheeba, and Egypt. African Criticism showed us that racism did not exist back then. It showed us how they were identifying other people from different cities, not by skin color, but by what city they were from.
