Personally I do not feel that I, or anyone could adequately answer the question at hand. Instead we can look into history and try to find pieces to the puzzle and come up with theories and opinions. Faith is a very important factor in Christianity. Without faith it is impossible to please God. In trying to please God, Christians take it upon themselves to read His word (the Bible) and take it as being true without doubt. The Bible gives great detail in describing things that are supposed to happen towards the end of the world. Many things that are spoken of and described have already occurred. This may add to the fact that Christians in history believe the world will end in their lifetime. By personally witnessing signs mentioned in the Bible they were led to believe that the second coming was soon. What they probably didn’t take into account is the time frame of all of these occurrences.
I am 100% sure that my project changed the world, and I don’t think that anyone would disagree. Although I am just one person, the few hours of community service that I did have really changed lives for the better. Many of the younger girls were constantly telling me how much they wanted to be like me when they grow up. My response was always, “Don’t be like me, be better!”. I provided the children with a positive example of how you can progress in life, while having fun. Just to look into the children’s eyes gave me a sense of pride. The children are our future. By investing time and effort into the kids, we are really sewing into our tomorrow. They cam possibly be our future presidents and mayors despite their illnesses. As we provide them with opportunities to learn, grow, and be healthy we are preparing them for all of the tasks that lie ahead. If anyone ever wants to change the world, they should begin with the children because it’s now only important to change today, but our future is important as well.
I believe very strongly that I deserve an A on my blogging. I have met the criteria to make an A. I blogged more than the required 1000 words per week and discussed the topic for that particular week thoroughly. My writing demonstrated that I understood the readings, lectures, and discussion topics. I don’t enjoy writing much, but after this semester of blogging I learned to deal with it. I have never written that much in the 19 years that I have been on this earth. Although, I don’t like writing; I’ve learned that writing does the justice. I’m able to communicate and express my thoughts and feelings through typing. Like I have mentioned before I am a very shy person and a lot of the time I don’t speak up in class when I have comment or argument about the discussed topic. Blogging gives the opportunity to speak my thoughts and even disagree with the topic we discussed in class. I think blogging is a great idea because I’m able be myself and show my personality through writing. It’s not like writing an English paper where it has to be formal but blogging can be very casual. Well Dr. Homan, you should be proud that I received something positive out of this gruesome assignment you called blogging. Another important reason why I should receive an A on my blogging is because my project improved the world. By the comments I received on week 4 and week 9, many of my classmates agreed that my project would improve and make difference in our community. I received a lot of positive feedback from the students that commented on my blog saying, “What a great project on helping children in need,” and “It is a very heart felt and sincere thing to do.” By their comments it motivated me to want to do the project not just for a grade but to really improve the world. I feel like I have accomplished my goal from the feedback the patients and their parents gave. Helping those kids was one of the best feelings in the world and I would advise everyone to experience. Just think if it was you in those children predicaments, you would want someone to show the same love and concern. If you have never volunteered before, you should read my blog entries and experience it through my writings and maybe you will be motivated to do the same. I believe the reason why we were assigned to blog our projects was so that people will be able to be exposed to the many different projects. Most likely after reading the many different projects, they would probably want to get involved and want to do something to improve the world. That is an excellent way to spread the word and go beyond then the students on Xavier’s campus. It can also be taken in consideration that someone who may have an upper hand will see the complaints and try to do something about it. Whoever is reading my blog we need to take the initiative and spread the world so we can make the world a better place? It is not a one man’s job but it takes us as a whole to improve our community.
As a student in Dr. Homan’s Theology of Biblical Studies course, I have worked very hard this semester and should receive an A for effort. Blogging about 15,000 words is not easy but if this is how I am going to get the word out then it is worth it. I have had a wonderful experience in this class and hopefully I will receive an A for all of my hard work. This has truly been a class that I have never taken before, but I believe it is an eye opener in what is going in and around our world today. Dr. Homan I hope I have made a good impression on you because I am well deserving of an A.
