week 2, the world’s biggest problems

I see that there are too many problems we are facing in this world but one of the main problems the world is facing is poverty. Millions of people all over the world are suffering from hunger. We see advertisements on television commercials showing how people are suffering from lack of food and nutrients. Striking pictures of strangely skinny people blast across the television screen during show’s breaks. Touching stories are read stating that “even the littlest help would be sufficient to save this young kid.” However, we are not affected by the advertisement; therefore, we just ignore the advertisement, or just flip the channel. One possible cause why the ads do not really achieve its objective can be recognized to our lifestyles. Since we are not experiencing similar problems and do not know of anyone personally that is suffering from hunger, we have the tendency to pay no attention to it. I can admit that I am guilty too. Everywhere you look there are poor people and there are also rich people. The number of rich people is small but the number of poor people is large. The number of wealth is to be found in about three or four percent of the world. It could most certainly be fewer. Saying this would mean that the rest is poor but that is also not true. The number of people that are middle class is pretty high too but not that high. The majority that is left is living unfortunate. All throughout the world there is starvation and with this starvation there comes sickness. If the people can not be able to meet the expense of their own food what makes you think that they can fill themselves up. If you were to look up the word poverty on any search engine it would pop up with millions of different articles about it. Poverty spans the world in ways we could never visualize. We are not able to see what is going on throughout the world because we are not there. For there not to be poverty the rich would need to give up a lot of their money and for that it is not achievable. Rich people would not want to give up anything, they would only want more. Someone once told me that the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer and that is an excellent example of how the world works.
Air pollution is also another problem the world is facing. Air pollution is almost present wherever we go. It has become a standard in society; therefore, people tend to forget that there is a problem with the ozone. Things that we tend to classify as routine actions can cause major harm to the ozone. For example, household duties such as cooking can lead to demolition of the ozone. If several houses merge their pollution gasses and fuels from cooking, then it might even be corresponding to the air pollution caused by big industrial companies. Another routine activity that causes major air pollution is driving. Operating an automobile sends out toxic fumes into the atmosphere where it can cause damage to the environment and its population. Some states are trying to adjust this problem by holding smoke inspections yearly, but to no achievement. A lot of people are finding ways out of these actions and continue to drive their “un-test” cars and contribute to the pollution. These examples are just the little activities that contribute to air pollution; however, the larger activities deal with industrial pollution. Big industries are using less efficient techniques of removing waste to minimize cost, which unintentionally causes more pollution. We do not become aware of that we are harming the ozone, which in the long run can have remarkable effects on the world’s climate or better yet, the people’s healthiness.
Sex before marriage is also one of the biggest problem in society also. Sex is only a superior if it was performed after marriage. People need to recognize that God gave us this gift to create life, and not for our entertainment purposes. I know that everyone knows that having unprotected sex will give a person STD or AIDS. These diseases puts everyone life in danger because, if one human being spread it to another and then the other person spread it to a different person and so on, this means that it is a big problems for all humans in the world. I know that it is a normal obsession that every person has to think about sex at least once every other day. First of all, people who are passionate for sex would do anything possible to receive it. They would even pay or work for sex. The most horrible problem of all is “rape”. Raping a person can leave them devastated. They will always remember that horrible moment of their life. From time to time it even causes them to think that they should not be living so they would try to suicide. Teens are the most people who engaged in sex before marriage. After they have sex and the female is pregnant. I think that five out of ten will have an abortion. Even if its one out of ten to have an abortion, the point is that having sex for your own entertainment is a problem, which is taking advantage of God’s gift.
People can do a lot of things to help fix these problems and make their environment a better place to live. I can not fix all these problems by myself but I can most try and help fix the world’s air pollution. I can recycle the trash and can drink that are being thrown around the population. Conserving food and drinks would also help the world’s air pollution. I can volunteer to do community service and pick up trash around my community or anywhere I see trash.

Babe Ruth was one of the best baseball players in baseball history. He had the most record breaking home run hits during his time. People all over the nation remember him for his famous home run hits.
In class there were two clips shown in the story of Babe Ruth. The first clip was from the 1948 version and second clip was the more recent one in 1992. The first version was during World War II, where there was a lot of violence and bloodshed in other countries. The country, during that time, was vulnerable and needed a positive figure to strive away from all the violence and bad news that was happening in the world. The Babe Ruth movie in 1948 gave the public in the United States a positive figure that they were looking for. In the first clip, Babe Ruth was portrayed more as a saint. In the first clip, a man calls Babe Ruth and tells him his son is extremely ill and wants a signed baseball from him. Babe Ruth makes arrangement with the man and comes to visit the sick boy in person. When Babe Ruth arrives at the young boy’s house, he promises little Johnny, the young sick boy, that he will hit a home run for him in his next game and to listen to it in the radio. He is portrayed as a saint that with a kind heart. The directors of the movie exaggerated his appearance to give the public what they wanted to see. In the second clip, Babe Ruth was less exaggerated as a saint. He was more of a wilder version of Babe Ruth compared to the first one. He was also asked by a man to come by and give his sick son, Johnny, an autograph. Babe Ruth went a visited Johnny in the hospital and was asked to hit a home run for Johnny. Babe Ruth was hesitant to say yes but he did to show everyone he was a nice man. There is a difference in the characters of Babe Ruth in the first clip and second clip. One was portrayed more as a saint and one was not. The point in showing these clips were to show that the bible could be told in different perspectives, but all have the same idea.
