The alphabet can democratize civilization because it gives the civilization a chance to have formal communication with each other. It gives them some type of means to communicate with other people as well. By being able write, they can come up with laws and rules that govern the people. Everything that makes a city deals with the ability to communicate will all of the people and ensure that everyone is on one accord. There would less confusion since everything is written and people have an understanding of the laws and rules so if something were to happen, people would already know what to
expect since it would be written down. I think that it would be hard to run a civilization without the alphabet because people would have to relay on a massager to tell them what the ruler of the civilization says and everyone knows that relying on others to deliver messages is problematic. The message that is heard by someone is never translated exactly as it was spoken. The alphabet allows the civilization to use written documentation to inform people. By writing something down makes it permanent in the sense that once it is written it is there forever and people millions an millions of years later will be able to read about the different events that took place. Being able to write opens the mind up to new things. If people of another culture have an alphabet that is similar to yours, you are able to learn about their culture and way of life. By having the ability to communicate with others, the people would increase their interaction with people in another society. The society would also be able to rake part in trade. Trading results in the society being able to make money. By having money allows them to purchase different items that begin to modernize the society. The alphabet opens up the world to a person and offers them many things that they could not have used before the creation of the alphabet. It also offers people to expand their things and inquire about things that are rarely discussed in society. The ability to read and write sets people above those who cannot read and write. This causes a class system to develop, the people that can read and write and considered better then those that cannot and sets up a system that governs over the people.
Archeology helps Bible scholars since it kind of gives proof that the stories in the Bible took place just as they are written. Archeology also helps people to better understand what type of things took place in the ancient cities that discussed in the Bible. The stories that many people believe to be truth are compared with the archeological evidence to see if the match up or if they contradict each other. By digging up the remains of the old cities, one is able to find out how long a certain group was in power. The materials and tools that were used during the time came be found in the debris. There are many parts to archeology then just digging in the ground. Digging is the first step and in this process the evidence is gathered and cleaned. The next step is using the evidence to either confirm or reject stories that are told in the Bible. This process affects Bible scholars because if one author states that they were various things that took place in the city of Jericho around a certain time period, scholars and look that the evidence that was collected at the Jericho site and determine rather or not the author was completely honest in the descriptions that were given. If the what the author discussed in their stories matches up to what was found at the site, scholars are able to conclude that this particular author is a valid source for gather information. Therefore the things that are discussed in the story can be interrupted as events that really did take place. On the other hand if you had an author that stated the pottery was used in 250 BCE and the archeological evidence shows that pottery was not used until 600 BCE, one would be less likely to believe the events that are discussed in the story may not have taken place in the context that author wants for the reader to believe.
My project will be dealing with the issue of health care in America. This problem not only involves the issue that people lack healthcare but it also deals with the issue of people not knowing the facts about health issues. Even though a person may not have the means to obtain the best health care, they can still remain somewhat healthy by knowing the facts about the issues. I would like to do something where people are able to get the information about health issues. In the poor communities, there are various diseases that run rapid in the community due to the fact that the people are unaware of the facts. Even though you can give them the information, it is another obstacle for them to find the resources that would allow them to get the proper services, but the issue of prevention is key to solving some of the health disparities. I am not to sure exactly how I am going to do this just yet, but it would involve having health professions come and speak to people about the issues that are having a huge effect on them. It may be kind of difficult to get doctors to offer their services for free so if they could give suggestions on the various ways to prevent the diseases. It is kind of late to wait until the person gets the disease to try and come up with ways to treat them. It would be more effective to catch the issue early, before it becomes and issue. It is always better to make sure that a person has enough information before hand and not waiting to educate them afterward. The main goal is to make sure that people are getting informed on the issues that affect their health.
