I address three major problems in the world today. These consisted of air pollution, world hunger, and sex before marriage. I realized that there are numerous people out there that are more concerned about the problem than me, and that they are already in the process of demanding to solve the problem. Air pollution has been a well-known problem all over the world. Everything from car to industrial pollution destroys the ozone layer. Small household duties like cooking, little by little destroys the environment. We have a tendency to overlook these norms since we do not notice the ozone vaporizing before our eyes. Laws and regulation has been passed to help decrease the pollution. Even though the laws or regulation may seem like a small step in attempting to fix this problem, something is always superior to nothing. Now companies are making products well-organized and less expensive to the customers. This reminds me of a project I made last school year. Last semester in speech class, I had to prepare and perform a convincing speech to change the class’s view on a certain subject. I wanted to do something about cars, and so I chose hybrid cars. Through research, I found out that these cars burn less gas and are less damaging to the ozone layer. Thoughts such as these are already being processed and worked on in the field.

However, I hardly hear anything about helping the hunger. Every now and then I see a commercial on television asking for contributions. Films of people in poor countries who are abnormally scrawny are shown to capture our interest. Besides the ‘world hunger’ commercials and advertisement, I also hear about catastrophes that can be associated to world hunger. For instance, there have been catastrophes over in the Asia, where a tsunami took the lives of thousands of people. Now there are thousands of people that are without food, family, and shelter. Survivors are taunted by outburst of disease from the deceased bodies lying in the streets. Not only are their homes demolished, but also their state is wiped away from the rush of approaching water. Helping the hunger or the poor is a great thing. Sometimes I do not feel so bad for the homeless people walking around the streets. I feel that they are capable of getting jobs but they refuse to do so. The homeless people who are walking the streets could make something out of themselves if they try. We did not put them on the streets; they chose to live on the streets. One time I saw this homeless man holding a sign saying “To tell you the truth, I need money for beer.” I was shocked at what he had written down on the card board. I am saying this because I want each and one of the homeless people out there to stop asking for money and make something out of them. They are capable of doing anything if they put a little effort into what they are trying to achieve.
Sex before marriage is not a good act because you are taking for granted what God has giving us. Sex is only a good if it was performed after marriage. For this reason, God wants the people to have sex after marriage because making babies is a serious situation. Doing so also means that you are committed to one another. People need to realize that God gave us this gift to create life, and not for our entertainment purposes. I know that everyone knows that having unprotected sex will give a person STD (sexually transmitted disease) or AIDS. These diseases puts everyone life in danger because, if one person spread it to another and then the other person spread it to a different person and so on, this means that it is a big problems for all humans in the world. I know that every person have to think about sex at least once a day. First of all, people who are crazy for sex would do anything possible to receive it. They would even pay or work for sex. The worst problem of all is rape. Raping a person can ruin their reputation for life. Sometimes it even causes them to suicide. Teens are the most people who engaged in sex before marriage. After they have sex and the female is pregnant. I think that three out of ten will have an abortion. Even if its one out of ten to have an abortion, the point is that having sex for your own entertainment is a problem, which is taking advantage of God’s gift.

In the end, I had to decide between helping save the ozone, and helping the hunger. Of these two I chose to attempt and improve world hunger. I do not know how to approach this problem since I have uncertainties that one young adult like me can have so much influence to change or solve the crisis. After brainstorming for a couple days, I thought of some random thoughts or plans that I can do to assist the less fortunate. I can drive or fly to the homeless and present food for the hunger. However, that means I have to accumulate items and purchase a plane ticket to transport myself over to wherever it is and be present at the needy. However, with my tedious school schedule I would not be able to do accomplish my goals. So the reasonable thing to do is to have a food drive where community can contribute food or money. Then these items will be sent to the appropriate places to be distributed among the needy. However, another possible goal is to spread the word and get the public to understand that there are millions of people out there who are less fortunate then them, and are in desire of food and nutrients. Even though society knows this, they are not doing anything to attempt and help lessen it. That means I have to develop a project to attract their attention and gain their support.
