Thanks for understanding why I haven’t really done as much with my project as I wanted to. I know that I have to find time to work on it, but it’s hard enough trying to find time to do my school work and to relax. However, I will try to make time to copy a few pages of information about the laws and penalties related to drunk driving and pass them out during the break. I suppose I could also try to give them a brief talk about what is on the paper, just in case they take it, but don’t want to read it.

I actually did consider calling MADD (mothers against drunk driving), but after a while I felt like I waited too long for us to actually put anything together. Not to mention the fact that I never talked to anyone at the school about putting anything together anyway. I guess I could find someone who had been involved in an accident with a drunk driver to speak at our class. I could ask my parents to see if they know anyone who would be willing to do so. I don’t think my parents have been involved in a car accident with a drunk driver, but I’ll ask anyway.

It has been a tough semester hasn’t it? I will try and take your advice about putting a little more effort into my project.

It has been hard to try and work on my project. To be honest, on many occasions, I have even thought about. I am always thinking about what assignment I have to do and I always seem to be studying for a test or working on a project that is due very soon. I will try to get my flyers done and talk to a few people, my brother included. I will give it a try. Thanks!

Yeah, I have noticed that a lot of people don’t even seem to give drunk driving a second thought. I find that weird since there are a lot of organizations and commercials that try to show people that drinking and driving is a bad idea. Drunk drivers hurt a lot of people and yet no one seems to even take notice until they, or a friend or family member, is hit by a drunk driver. I have thought about telling them the laws and penalties related to drunk driving. If they realize the losses that could befall them if they got caught driving under the influence of alcohol then they might not want to do it.

I realize that this project of mine could help a lot of people and I hope that I can. However, I have been busier than I thought I would be and haven’t been able to do a lot. I will try to get out and pass out as many information sheets as I can, and on occasion I may even talk to some people about drunk driving. I will try to do more if time permits it.
The Book of Tobit was about a man named Tobit who always did his best to do what was right. He would always pay his tithes, help the poor, and bury the dead, even if he wasn’t supposed to. He took some of his money, after he gave his tithes, and gave it to his cousin Raguel to hold for him. One night, when Tobit was sleeping, some bird droppings fell into his eyes and he went blind. He prayed for God to let him die, and at the same time a woman named Sarah, the daughter of Raguel, asked for God to let her die as well since she got married to seven husbands and each of them died before they were able to consummate their marriage. One day, Tobit told his son to get the money that he gave to Raguel many years back. As he was about to leave, Tobias met a man named Raphael, who was actually an angel in disguise. He traveled with Tobias to Media, where Raphael, lives. Before they got to Media, they took a break at a spot near a river. Tobias went to wash his feet in the river and his toe was bitten by a fish. He caught it and was told by Raphael to cut out the gull bladder, liver, and heart. Raphael explained that the liver and heart could be used as an incense to ward away demons that were following people and the gull bladder could be used to get rid of the white film that has covered his father’s eyes. When they arrived, Raguel welcomed them and they had a big dinner. Before dinner started, Tobias asked for Sarah’s hand in marriage. Raguel agreed, but warned him about the other seven husbands who died before they could consummate the marriage. Tobias understood and the next day he and Sarah got married. Tobias prepared the incense and the demon left Sarah. Raguel asked Tobias to stay for fourteen days in order to celebrate his marriage. After that, Tobias went back to his father and took Sarah and half of her father’s property since that now belonged to him. When they arrived, Tobias went to his father and applied the gull bladder and then peeled away the white film. Tobit and his wife celebrated their sons return with a big dinner. Raphael brought Tobit and Tobias to a private area and told them that he was an angel sent by God and that everything that had happened was the will of God. The angel disappeared and Tobit began praising God’s name. The meaning of this story is that God will bless those that are staying faithful to Him. Even if things are looking grim, if you stayed faithful to God everything would become better soon.
Some people consider the Maccabees to be heroic because they helped start a revolt against Seleucid rule in Judea. They refused to follow the rules of another religion and went the Seleucids to try and gain their freedom.
