Job’s experience relates to the rebuilding of New Orleans in many ways. First of all, Job is a man that God and satan made a bet about. Satan wagered that Job will, I guess you could say, abandon God if bad things happened to him. So, God took away Job’s children, animals, and gave him a skin disease. Job remained faithful to God even when his wife told him to curse God and die. God won the bet and gave Job new kids, riches, and took away his skin disease. How does this relate to New Orleans. One thing that I learned from class about God is that sometimes there is no reason as to why things happen. What I learned from this story is that you may not know why it happens but it can be replaced or given back. So, we do not know why Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, but we know that it can be rebuilt. Even though it is hard, maybe we should be like Job. Be patient and do not blame God. Continue to have faith in God.

Psalms 22
Psalms 22 is a poem about how a person is feeling about God. They feel as though God has abandoned them. They feel alone, as though no one is with them. God is not answering them, and they feel as though HE is not listening.
Psalms 22 also, I guess you could say, prophesizes the words of Jesus after he is crucified. In some ways, it seems as though what is said in Psalms 22 could have been thought by Jesus also. As he is dying, Jesus may have felt abandoned by God also. Right before he dies, however, Jesus puts his life in God’s hand. Even though Jesus questioned and felt abandoned by God, he knows that God is always there. You have to trust him and have faith. So, maybe you do feel that God has abandoned you, especially when something horrible such as being exiled happens; however, you just have to believe, have faith that God is always with you.
