First I would like to thank everyone who commented on my week nine blog. I glad to see that those who commented on the week nine blog are pleased at what I have done and what I am doing. I received all positive feedback and that let me know that I am doing a good job. I love doing my project and I am glad that it is becoming a huge success. I am still trying to get more people involved. I know that it will take time, but I think that even people in the community like my project as well. I really enjoy it; I would not change it for nothing. The past week the children at McDonough took the LEAP Test and I really hope that they did a good job. Many times during the week they worked on practice test and I could see a huge improvement from the first time up until the test. I hope that when I return on Monday I will hear some positive results from the children about the test. I will really miss them over the summer, but will be doing this the again in the fall. Seven people commented on week nine blog. The following people are: Gerald Smith, Jada Etienne, Holle Ford, Whitney Green, Shanta Williams, Justin Gray, and Paisley Robertson.

I really like this project and I am going to continue to do it for as long as a can. But thanks again.
Jada: Thanks for the comment. I am glad to be working with the children doing both programs. I get so excited every time I go see them. Even on those days I feel tired and exhausted; they lighten up my day. I am trying to get more people involved in both of these programs. I am also trying to get a career day started as well. I know that it can happen, but it will probably be implemented not until next semester, but still it will get done. I plan to continue with both of these programs next semester also. Over the past week the children have been taking the LEAP Test and hopefully Monday I will hear some great results. Well thanks again and I am glad to know that you appreciate what I am doing.
Holle: Thanks for the comment and the good luck. I really do enjoy working with the children. They put smiles on my face even when I am tired and exhausted, but I know that I have a commitment to them and I will not break it. I love working through both programs. I am really glad that you approve of the project and think that it is going well. I am trying to get a career day started, and get more involved in this great effort. Again thank for the comment.
Whitney: Thank you for the comment. I will keep a positive attitude because I have always been taught that one’s attitude determines their altitude; and I want to go real far so I will keep a positive attitude. I love what I am doing through both programs. I am trying to get a career day started, and get more people involved. I know that the semester is almost over, but I plan on carrying out this program next semester also. I have not seen the children over the past two weeks due to the LEAP Test and spring break, but I really miss them and I will be glad to see them on Monday. I can’t wait for them to tell me about the test and their break I know that I will hear some hilarious stories, but I am ready. Well thanks again and if you want to be a part of this next semester fell free to contact me.
Shanta: Thank you for the comment. I am glad to see that you like what I am doing with the project. I am keeping a positive attitude, because the children need people around then that think and act positive at all times. I love being around the children. It had been a couple of week’s since I saw them due to testing and spring break, but I can not wait to go back and hear about their stories and what they did over the break. I am really excited to hear about what they though about the test. I am trying to get a career day stared and get more people involved for the next semester. Again thanks for the comment.
Justin: Thank you for the comment. I am really glad to see that you like the mentoring and tutoring project that I am doing with both programs. I really enjoy working with the children and I would not trade it for nothing. I am trying to start a career day and get more people involved for the next year. I think that everyone should take a little time out of their busy schedule and make a difference in the lives of others. I can say that the project is a huge success and my plans are to continue next year. Thanks again.
Paisley: Thank you for the comment. I am really glad to being doing this project and to know that I have a huge impact on the lives of others. I am trying to be a positive example towards the children because that is what they need around then. It is a lot of negative things around children everyday, and I am trying to encourage them that just because they see it don’t mean they have to carry out the same actions. I am glad that the project is going well and glad to see that you think so also. I am trying to start a career day, and get more people involved. I hope that your project is going well also. Again thanks.
Again thanks to everyone that has commented on my project. Like I have mentioned to some of you when I responded to the comment; I am trying to start a career day and get more students involved in this effort. I think those children looks up to people that are closer to then in age because they understand more of the things they are faced with daily. I think that during this time children need people around them that have a positive attitude and carry out this attitude with their actions as well. The project has been a success and I plan on carrying out this great cause for as long as I can. Thanks to everyone again.
The Tobit is a book in the Apocrypha. This book is not like nay ordinary book it is different but interesting all at the same time. Tobit which is the main character in the story is a man of god character. He is a righteous Jew that wants to have proper burials for Jews that had been killed. One night after the burial of another Jew, Tobit fell asleep with his eyes open. A bird flew bye and expelled waste into his eyes, Tobit then became blind. He became discouraged and later prayed for death. At the same time Sarah, one of his relatives is praying for death in despair. Every time she marries, her husband is killed by the demon Ashmodai, who admires her. She lost seven husbands. After this entire situation God sends an angel Raphael. The angel is disguised as a human, and he is sent to heal Tobit and free Sarah. The angel sends Tobias to kill the demon and he marries Sarah. He also cures his father blindness with fish remains. The main story behind this book is to show that one can still remain faithful to God despite of the situation. It shows the customs and beliefs of Jews during this time and how they valued their customs and traditions. I think that it shows people today how to appreciate their values, beliefs, and taditions.
Maccabees is considered to be heroic because he restored the Jewish culture and traditions. For a while Jews were not allowed to practice their religion and their temples were destroyed. The Jews and Greeks were then living together and therefore adopted each others customs. The Jews began to adopt Hellenistic customs. The Jews were confused and did not know which traditions to accept. Antiochus IV made all Jews practice Hellenistic customs. Then after Jews were being killed in the most abrupt way, Judas Maccabees then recovers the Jews customs and rebuilds temples again. Judea is restored.
