Over this whole semester I am really proud of myself whit all the progresss i made towards poverty and helping with kids and education, most of the time i would just give up and look for the easy way out. But i stuck along with what i said i would do and i feel like i accomplished a lot this semester. More than just learning i taught, more than just getting help, i helped. I feel like i did as Jesus would have wanted me to do which is help those in need, not those with greed. Starting off it was kind of rough cause i really didn’t know how i was going to start or where i was going to start. The only thing i knew was that i was going to help those that were less fortunate than i am. So i thought about it and after talking to a few of my classmates i decided that i was going to work on poverty. In the beginning i got up on saturdays to help out with community service and do a little with that. But then i felt like that was not enough and it wasn’t hands on, i was working to better the community but i couldn’t see the effects. So then i went to a meeting with one of my friends and they told me about helping with TYC (teaching Young Children) they gave me the information and told me which days to put that i was available. This was around mid Febuary, and i have been wouking with them ever since.
With the arms of Compassion that is exactly what it is, compassion for those that are in need. This is an organization which i work through with my church. Since i stay only an hour and thirty minutes away i keep in touch and whe i go home do what i can. God loves a cheerful giver and he has love for those who show love. So i thought that i would get involved with them cause its no point for me to dig a new ditch when one is already paved. If anyone would like to make a donation to Arms of Compassion look us up at www.tvmi.org. We would really appreciate everyone help. I also feel like with this whole project God is smiling down on this class and i appreciate Dr. Homan for instealing us to change the place that we live in instead of just living and taking what we can from it and not giving back. This whole project made me a better person and i have a different out take on life also because i now feel like i have meaning and i don’t want to quit helping people. If Jesus ministry was to help those that were in need then i think that is my purpose in life. A lot of people wear the What would Jesus Do braclets, but when it comes down to it they don’t almost do things that Jesus would do, because first Jesus would help the poor and not be all into material things. The whole country runs off of material things, who has the best car, the newest named brand clothes, and the biggest home. Its not a big deal to have nice things or to want to have nice things, its just that people dedicate their lives to having nice things instead of worring about what Jesus would do.
I also feel great that i am a mentor to others. At the end of the program brandon asked me for my phone number to call me over the summer. I know that everything happenes for a reason and people come into your life to test or bless you. Also life is not about how you live it its about the impact that you make.

Jesus was crucified because the Jews didn’t like his message. Jesus taught that they should not try and make money off the church, but to take care of the people as a shepherd and his flock. the Jews hated this because they viewed Jesus as somebody that thinks that they are smarter than everybody. Also Jesus always rebuked them and made them feel as little ants. He spoke in parables so that they wouldn’t understand his teaching and told them that they were sinners. What really made the Jews mad was when Jesus forgave others for their sins. The didn’t view Jesus as the Messiah, they saw him as a magician. Once Jesus forgave others they accused him of blasphemy and said that he was implying that he was God. Which he was because Jesus was God in the flesh, they just couldn’t see it. They told the Romans that Jesus was calling himself King of the Jews which was seen as a crime, it was like a rebellion. Jesus whole ministry was spiritual, when he spoke of the kingdom that he was going to prepare it wasn’t an earth kingdom. This was why so many Jews didn’t see Jesus as the Messiah, because he didn’t do the things that were considered royality. Plus Jesus was not of a rich blood line. He was in the blood line of King David which was promised to David in the old testament. To be honest Jesus was crucified because that was his purpose for coming to the world in the first place, he was sent to be a living example that living a holy life was possible, and to die for our sins that we might have a chance at everylasting life in heaven. Because before Jesus died the only way to salvation was through sacrifice and living according to the dietary laws, and circumcision of Moses. This made it possible for the world to be saved, which includes you and me. Everything that happened had to happen or we wouldn’t be where we are today. God had special plans for us to be included in the plan of salvation, without Jesus salvation would not be. I thank God everyday for dying for me and giving me a chance to make it to heaven.
