The Biblical prophets relate to my topic because they showed what should be done by example and by informing people. I feel that being so young I lead by example and by the fact that I would like to help with this project so much. By volunteering I am showing what could be done to ease the problem by showing my generation that anyone has the power to change the world when they work in numbers.
Job’s experience relates to rebuilding New Orleans because it takes a lot of faith to rebuild an entire city. During the hard times, the actual hurricane and the years following, people had to keep their faith in God even though everything seemed to go wrong that could. If the city passes the test it will come back bigger and better than ever because God will reward it for its faith in him.
Psalm 22 is about a person asking God why he would cause all this pain to him and not help him. He starts by showing God’s compassion, that it truly exists but not for him it seems. He inquires why God would even allow him to be born only to be mocked and made fun of and hated by all. This person also states that he has not been unfaithful at anytime so why should he be the one being tormented. He still remains faithful in God because he knows even when things get bad God will always be there to help out. Psalm 22 is basically stating that no matter how bad your life feels at this time God is always near you even if it feels like he is not. He is always there in times of pain and happiness.
