First let me begin by thanking everyone and applauding them for their comments on my project. I know that just like me many of you dreading having to read the projects of ten other people, and leaving real comments, instead of just ‘keep up the good work’. I still haven’t received and negative feedback, and I’m glad about that. This has made me feel great. It let me know that my peers agree with me on my views that teen pregnancy, along with sexually transmitted diseases, and that also gave me verification that my project and my approach is good. I now know that my project was not in vain, and I have actually helped people in the process for doing something for school. Do to the lack of time, I’m no going to respond to everyone’s comment individually. Instead I’ll reply to all of the comments as a whole. I hope that you all don’t mind. Once again thank you! Most schools do not agree with promoting pre-marital sex, but as you probably know that doesn’t stop the majority of the students from engaging in it. So, I appreciate everyone and everyone’s support. People really do get embarrassed when they have to talk about the subject, but they are not afraid to perform the actions. I guess that’s just a sign of immaturity. And as you stated, if they’re ashamed to pick up free protection they just don’t know what’s best for them. The number of teen pregnancy is rising in number. It is something that we need to work on; hopefully my project helped to get those numbers to start decline. Hopefully this project will made people feel more comfortable in protecting themselves. This way they will be safer than sorry. The majority of the young women that get pregnant are not ready for the responsibilities that go along with motherhood. The fathers are not ready either. The passing out of condoms will also aid in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. So I agree with the comments whole-heartedly. Once again the encouragement is good to hear. It let’s me know that I am on the right track, and that I am having a positive impact on those that I am trying to reach. I must admit hat a lot of the times I did get discouraged and tired. Sometimes I did just want to stop, but I must admit that I am proud of myself for persevering and pressing on through the hard times. The thing that kept me going was the community and the positive comments I received from my peers. I looked at the situation as is it were me that had a higher risk of being affected by one of the two epidemics. I would want someone to come and talk to me about ways of protecting myself. And my peers gave me that boost of confidence that I needed to continue and be successful in my endeavor. I also gained a sense of pride fro doing this. It somehow made me sleep a little better knowing that I’m leaving an impact in someone’s life. I know it may not seem like a big deal to others, but it is one to me.
There is an immense between source criticism and textual criticism. Source criticism focuses on the source, as its name implies. With source criticism, the critic attempts to find the author of the piece they are looking at. They focus more on the authors’ intentions. They look at why the author writes what he/she does. On the other hand, textual criticism focuses on the actual text itself. When critics focus on textual criticism the source or author is of no importance. When focusing on textual criticism the critics looks at the texts itself and examine whether or the text possesses characteristics that would tell whether or not the text is potential to be true or false.
In the story of Tobit, Tobit is the main character (I guess that’s a given). In the story Tobit lives in Nineveh. His occupation is a burrier of the dead, which goes against the wishes of the king. One day while working Tobit falls asleep with his eyes open. During this time birds fly over him, and he awaken to find that he is blind. After Tobit discovers he has lost his sight, he decides that he no longer wants to live, he wants to die. During this same time there is a woman in another city called Media. The woman’s name is Sarah. Sarah is cursed. She has been married seven times and each time on her honeymoon her husband dies. A demon by the name of Asmodeus always kills them. Although she had been married seven times she has never had sexual intercourse. So just like Tobit, Sarah too wishes for death. They are both praying to die. God decides to send an angel of healing, Raphael to offer them both some assistance. Tobias, who is Tobit’s son, is sent to Media by his father because he needs him to retrieve some money from someone. Raphael goes along with him also. At this time Raphael turns into a human. During their little voyage a fish tries to kill Raphael. But instead they kill the fish. And after doing this they take the liver, heart, and gall bladder of the fish. Once they get to Media, Tobias and Raphael end up staying at Sarah’s house. When Sarah and Raphael meet he falls in love. Just like all the rest they get married. But this time her husband Raphael does not die. The cursed is gone because of the things they removed from the fish. The demon can no longer hunt her. I know… pretty weird huh. They then return home to Tobit and rob the fish in his eyes. And you guessed it…he (Tobit) is no longer blind, he gets his vision back. But he dies. Now I know you’re wondering what the message of the story is. Well, the message of the story is that there is a Divine plan, and everything works out for your good.
The Maccabees are comsidered heroic by some because they were rebels with a cause. They rebelled under Mattathias.
