My Hurricane story is more of a story that tells a lesson to all people. Katrina was an eye opener to may people. During Katrina i was living in an apartment with my sister and working a full time job. My apartment was completely destroyed and i did not have rental insurance on my apartment, so basically, i lost every thing i worked hard for. I had a car but my car was not damaged. i did still get paid through my employers so i was able to survive financially. I started out in Atlanta, then Mississippi and finally Lafeyette were my husband, (boyfriend at the time) started back working for his employers. I station there for about three weeks, and then my employers called me back to New Orleans to start back working. I left my Husband in Lafayette for a month, and eventually he came back to New Orleans. I know i didn’t have not nearly a bad experiences that others did but i did learn that it is important to have home owner or rental insurance, employers that will take care of you and your family in case of major emergencies, places set up to go in case of emergencies and extra money save up. I do feel blessed that i didn’t suffer like many others but i lost several love ones in the aftermath.
