Contemplative Pedagogy Workshop

Tree of Contemplative Practices

CAT has been promoting contemplative pedagogy for several years now. A recent survey of Xavier faculty revealed a surprising fact: more faculty are implementing a contemplative pedagogy than we had realized. This is great news. So: let's talk about it.

In this panel session participants will engage in a brief contemplative exercise, chosen to demonstrate that there are many such practices besides meditation. We will discuss contemplative pedagogy and invite you to discuss how you are using these practices in your classes — and answer questions about getting started for those who are interested.

This workshop will be invigorating and informative, and appropriate to any faculty interested in contemplative pedagogy, from the experienced practitioner to the casually curious.
