Instructional Continuity Plan
Tips to Help You Get Started

image showing various disasters

Course delivery is vulnerable to unplanned events. Potential interruptions to class activities include but are not limited to natural disasters, widespread illness, acts of violence, planned or unexpected construction-related closures, severe weather conditions, and medical emergencies. Whatever the event, an instructional continuity plan will help you to be ready to continue teaching with minimal interruption. This workshop will give you tips to help you get started developing your own instructional continuity plan.

Note: We will use Bb Collaborate Web Conference for this virtual workshop. You will be able to attend this workshop from the comfort of your home or office. Alternatively, you can use one of the computers in CAT+FD computer lab (library, room 532A) to attend the workshop. If you are joining the web conference from your home or office, please run the first time users system check at least 24 hours in advance of the web conference to make sure your computer is setup and ready to go. A headset with microphone is recommended. Headsets will be provided for those who choose to attend the web conference in CAT+FD computer lab. While it is sometimes possible to use iPhone headphones that have built-in microphones on VoIP programs like Skype, these headsets can cause heavy interference in Collaborate sessions. Therefore the iPhone type headphones are not recommended.

If you are not familiar with Bb Collaborate, please view this short Online Orientation for Participants video tutorial [7:20] well in advance of joining the session.
