Where is Xavier University?
Xavier is located in the heart of New Orleans, La., and is easily
accessible by car via the I-10 system…
Why did you partner with these schools?
These two schools were chosen for many reasons, including their
location, their ability in 1998 and 1999 to access the Internet,
the administrator's willingness to support the project.
Who funded the project?
This three-year project was primarily funded by the Preparing
Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology (PT3) Grant awarded to the
Division of Education of Xavier University from the US Department
of Education. The Gumbo LALA project also received substantial
support from the Center for the Advancement of Teaching through
a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
