Comments on Teaching and Learning at Xavier: I’ve learned that teaching and learning is a process that involves students and faculty. Faculty/students learn together and teach each other from unique perspectives. Differences in intellectual and cultural backgrounds make teaching & learning a productive and interactive dialogue. My methods have been varied. Mostly I employ an analytical approach, teaching from a theoretical base and allowing students to engage in inference and deduction. The best tip I can share with colleagues is that they take time to listen to students think.
