Technology Enhanced Curriculum: Further Assessment RFP

Issued April 16th, 2004

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching invites all faculty members who have successfully completed Phase V of the Technology-Enhanced Curriculum (TEC) projects to further assess the effect of the technology-enhanced curriculum on teaching and/or student learning by replicating or expanding the original assessment plan.

Although the original TEC projects involved groups of faculty members, this funding opportunity is designed to support individual faculty members.

A $1000 stipend is available to support this work. The stipend will be paid in two equal installments, the first at the completion of the Planning and Development phase in Summer 2004, and the second at the end of the Implementation and Evaluation phase in either Fall 2004 or Spring 2005.

Proposal guidelines

Interested faculty members should submit a one- or two-page proposal to the Center by May 15, 2004. In the proposal, you should:

  1. list the course or courses that are involved and when they are taught
  2. describe the methods used and the findings or results you obtained in the Evaluation Phase (Phase V) of the original TEC project
  3. describe how you will replicate or expand your original assessment plan.

Please submit 3 copies of the proposal to the Center (P.O. Box 78). Also, please send a digital version of the proposal to the Center at cat@xula.edu. The Center for the Advancement of Teaching's faculty and staff will review the proposals on a competitive basis; the review is not a blind review. Applicants will be notified of the results in late-May 2004.

Funded faculty must submit progress and final reports. The latter must include the results and analysis of the assessment project.

The Center staff and faculty will serve in an advisory capacity and provide whatever assistance may be needed throughout the funding period. If you have any questions, contact Gayna Credle at ext. 5070 or send an e-mail.
