| Significance | Schwenckfeld was a German diplomat and radical spiritualist reformer. His emphasis on the experiential aspects of Christianity led him to reject “external practices” such as baptism and the Eucharist. After being exiled from his homeland in Silesia and from Stasbourg, he settled in Ulm where he died on December 10, 1561. |
