Learning Groups
Principles, Practice, and What Works at Xavier

This brown-bag discussion will consider group work in courses at Xavier. While the examples will be drawn from experiences, for the most part, in mathematics courses, the principles hold constant across most of the science disciplines and apply generally to any academic domain. This session should prove of value to faculty members considering group work for their students in virtually any discipline.

  • Led by: Dr. Paul McCreary (Mathematics)
  • Date: Thursday, October 14, 2004
  • Time: 12:15 - 1:05 PM
  • Location: Library 502
  • Sponsor: CAT

Note: At the end of the discussion, participants will be invited to sign up for a two-hour, ''hands-on'' practicum to be held later, at a mutually convenient time.
