How to Create Visually Stunning Presentations Using Free and Legal Online Tools

Whether you're a complete novice or a proficient PowerPoint user looking to add some visual spice to your lectures, this hands-on workshop may be of interest.

In just two short hours we will teach you how to combine Google Presentation and Flickr's Creative Commons Photo Search to create electronic slideshows with a high visual impact.

Specifically, you will learn how to create, edit and share slideshows in Google Presentation. You will also learn how to search for images on Flickr that are published under a Creative Commons license allowing for adaptive reuse.

We will practice several step-by-step techniques, but the emphasis will be on adding a number of new skills to your repertoire, rather than learning a single recipe. You will be able to pick and choose whichever techniques are most useful to you.

In advance of the workshop, participants should sign up for accounts on Flickr and Google Docs. It's free and relatively simple to do so, but perhaps not quite as simple as it should be. If you need assistance navigating the registration process, contact CAT. (Please call Bart at ext. 5164.)
