Grantwriting in the Social Sciences and the Humanities (Morning Session)

Workshop participants will receive information on funding opportunities currently available in the Social Science and Humanities disciplines while also learning how to construct their own targeted searches based on their scholarly and research interests. Further, participants will learn grant-writing techniques that make proposals stand out to reviewers and increase the likelihood of being funded.

Dr. Marjorie Piechowski is Emeritus Director of Research Support at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Since 2002 she has worked with universities nationwide to develop and write successful grants in excess of $23.5 million dollars. She has provided technical writing and grant development services to 55 universities, corporations, medical and not-for-profit organizations. She has given more than 90 invited, peer-reviewed presentations and workshops at regional, national, and international meetings. Dr. Piechowski earned her PhD in American Literature from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has taught on both a full-time and part-time basis at Marquette University, DePaul University, Mount Mary College, and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
