<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\nThe Assignments tool is an efficient way to manage and collect your student's individual and group assignments digitally. Brightspace's Assignments Tool allows instructors to create a secure location for students to submit class assignments.<\/p>\n
The Assignments tool allows instructors to set up a place for students to submit their assignments digitally, with the ability to:<\/p>\n
- \n
- Control the window for submission<\/li>\n
- Facilitate individual submissions or group submissions (provided the groups have been set up using the Groups tool first)<\/li>\n
- Collect and assess submissions (with a connection to the Grades tool, if needed)<\/li>\n
- Enable plagiarism detection through Turnitin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Follow these steps to do it.<\/h3>\n
To create an assignment submission folder:<\/p>\n
- \n
- On the NavBar (of the course you want to create a submission folder), click Activities<\/strong> and then choose Assignments<\/strong> from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n
- Click New Submission Folder<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Enter a Name<\/strong> for your submission folder.<\/li>\n
- Select a Folder Type<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Do any of the following:\n

- Select a Category<\/strong> or click New Category<\/strong> to organize your assignment submission folders.<\/li>\n
- Select a Grade Item<\/strong>, or click New Grade Item<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- To assign a score, enter a value in the Out Of<\/strong> field.<\/li>\n
- To associate a rubric to the folder, click Add Rubric<\/strong>, or Create Rubric in New Window<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Enter instructions in the Instructions<\/strong> field.<\/li>\n
- Add attachments in the Attached Files<\/strong> area.<\/li>\n
- Expand Show Submission Options<\/strong> and select the appropriate settings.<\/li>\n
- Enter your email address in the Notification Email<\/strong> field to receive an email message when a new submission is uploaded to this folder.<\/li>\n
- Choose the option to hide student names during assessment, if appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Note:<\/strong> You can add the Turnitin plagiarism detection feature to the assignment submission folder using the options in the Turnitin tab. Follow these instructions to enable Turnitin<\/a> for the assignment submission folder. <\/p>\n
