The four gospels that we have today in our Bible are those attributed to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In addition, there were gospels other than these four that were written in the early church. For example, there was a "Gospel of Thomas," a "Gospel of the Egyptians," a "The Gospel of Peter," a "Gospel of the Ebionites", and others. Much of what we have today of these are fragments and not as long as the four which one finds in today's Bibles. If you are interested in reading more about these other gospels, the book "The Other Gospels", edited by Ron Cameron (The Westminster Press, ISBN 0-664-24428-9) contains these.
