The interpretations

Watch now the following six interpretations (which are given with numbers) that Luke gives to this parable.

LK 16:1-13 "1) As a result the master of this dishonest manager praised him for doing such a shrewd thing; 2) because the people of this world are much more shrewd in handling their affairs that the people who belong to the light....3) make friends for yourselves with worldly wealth, so that when it gives out, you will be welcomed in the eternal home. 4) Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones...5) No servant can be the slave of two masters;...6) You cannot serve both God and money."

Comment: Which of these six do you think was the original point that Jesus was attempting to make with this parable? Hint: it is not number six; this parable is not about someone trying to serve God and trying to serve money. It is not number five: the parable is not about a servant who has two masters. Similarly, it is not four, three, or two.
