One must remember that early Christians truly believed that the Jesus who was present in their communion services was the same Jesus who walked with them in Galilee. Today, some Christians speak of Jesus being "spiritually" present in their communion services and "physically" present when walking and eating in Galilee, but this distinction of "spiritual" and "physical" is not one that a first century Christian would have made.
