Battle of Moh·cs

1526 August 29 Battle of Moh·cs.
In August of 1526, the Turkish army led by S¸leyman I attacked and defeated Hungarian forces at Moh·cs. Protestants viewed the defeat as punishment by God for the sins of the Catholic Church. Because of this and the fact that Catholic leadership in this area was weakened by the defeat, Protestantism began to thrive in Hungary.
