All About Coffee

What is Coffee?

If you don't know what coffee is, you obviously have not been raised by human beings. Only a space alien or a feral child could remain ignorant of coffee in this day and age.

Coffee is a hot beverage brewed from a certain kind of bean that grows on a certain kind of plant. I really don't know that much about it. In fact, you're not really supposed to be reading this text so closely. This page was created for a tutorial about Web pages, not to provide actual information about coffee. After all, as Gertrude Stein said:

Coffee is real good when you drink it it gives you time to think. It's a lot more than just a drink; it's something happening. Not as in hip, but like an event, a place to be, but not like a location, but like somewhere within yourself. It gives you time, but not actual hours or minutes, but a chance to be, like be yourself, and have a second cup.

A Poem by Pope Leo XII

Last comes the beverage of the Orient shore,
Mocha, far off, the fragrant berries bore.
Taste the dark fluid with a dainty lip,
Digestion waits on pleasure as you sip.
