Installing Buttons
The buttons you can install vary depending on the browser you're using. If you're using your own browser, go ahead and follow the instructions presented by the site when you register. (For example, if you're using Firefox or Internet Explorer, you can install a plugin or extension that will add buttons directly to your browser.) For the purposes of this tutorial, and if you're in a lab or on someone else's computer, you should probably use the bookmarklets instead. These work on just about any browser.
- Go to del.icio.us/help/buttons
- The site should automatically detect what browser you're using, but if not you can choose your browser manually at the bottom of the page.
- The instructions on the screen should be sufficient. Basically you just drag the links to your toolbar.
When you're done you should have two new links or buttons on your bookmarks toolbar: "Post to del.icio.us" and "My del.icio.us." Next, we will learn how to use them.
