Authoring Tools

At the time of this writing, I believe these are the three most popular Web-authoring tools in use at Xavier University. I've also included BBEdit, simply because it's my favorite.

HomeSite

You can create XHTML with version 4.5, but it's pretty hairy. You'll have a much easier time of it if you upgrade to version 5.

DreamWeaver

DreamWeaver MX is fully XHTML capable.

FrontPage

FrontPage is not a Web editor; it's an Internet Explorer production tool.

BBEdit

Of course BBEdit is fully XHTML-capable. I made these pages (and the entire CAT website) in BBEdit.
