IMPROVING THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION COURSES, CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM BY RESTURCTURING EXISTING ONLINE AND BLENDED COURSE THROUGH BEST PRACTICES

The purpose of this project is to restructure and redesign existing online and blended courses in Public Administration (PADM), by using active learning strategy and best practices. The goal of this project is to enhance student engagement in PADM online and blended courses by restructuring existing courses. The specific objectives to achieve this goal are 1) identify existing courses to redesign for online and blended learning; 2) identify the best practices of an online and blended learning methodology and strategy to incorporate in course design; 3) impove faculty knowledge and ability to plan, implement, deliver and evaluate online and blended teaching technology through attendance of seminars, and research; 4) restructure and redesign the course syllabi; 5) implement the restructured course to make sure student engagement is improved and enhanceded in PADM online and blended courses, curriculum and program through the application of best practices and online educational experience. By improving the PADM online and blended courses the program will increase the number of students that will successfully pass the online classes. The success of this pilot program will give the PADM faculty the knowledge and the opportunity to apply the strategy in all online and blended courses.
