Inverting BSAD 2200-Balancing the Global Perspective on International Business Strategy

by Dr. Cary A. Caro

International Business is taught every regular semester ans is th eonly lower-level business course that has a focus on international business strategy. This project will help to invert the course, leaving more classroom time for guided practice, critical thinking activities, and other assessment opportunities. This course is strongly influenced by the Division of Business mission and the University mission. Simply, how do you as an individual leading a global company balance the pressures to create profit against human and environmental rights? This project will allow me to explore different activities to focus less on lectures and discussions, and more on hands-on student-centered activities to promote critical thinking and test their decision-making mindset. By creating online micro-lectures, I will be more able to explore current events and their impact on business strategy, and design other activities to challenge students to think outside of their textbook. This project aims to create those micro-lectures, design new classroom activities, and generate new assessment methods to gauge student learning.
