Experiential Learning of Career and Lifestyle Development

by Dr. Ariel Encalade Mitchell

I am proposing to incorporate the flipped teaching method into my Lifestyle and Career Development Course as a way to increase content covered and experiential process. I would like to utilize the grant funds to purchase assessments for my students to utilize during class for experience and process. I intend to use class time for implementing assessments and processing the experience, instead of the traditional model of lecturing about the assessments during class. This inverted model will require students to conduct guided research and engage in reading outside of class time. This change will be a valuable learning tool for the graduate students in this content heavy course.
