Preparing Our Students for a Global World
Course Assignments and Classroom Techniques

Xavier University, along with 15 other HBCUs and ACAs (Appalachian College Association), was invited to participate in the Mellon Fellow Community Initiative aimed at advancing projects and strategies to increase awareness of global citizenship in the classroom and on campus. We invite you to join us and learn more about the project and share what you currently do in class to increase students' awareness of our global world.

This session will assume the format of a roundtable. We ask that attendees bring with them specific examples of course assignments and class activities related to global awareness to share with others. There will not be a formal presentation. Instead, attendees will be able to share with and learn from each other.

Discuss the importance of global citizenship for our students.

Learn what Xavier faculty are already doing in this area.

Share specific ways that you cover these issues in your courses
