NOLA Bloggers and the Recovery
In the days and months after the 2005 flooding of New Orleans, reliable information was a precious commodity for citizens hoping to rebuild their lives and communities. Local blogs emerged as an important source of civic intelligence, and the New Orleans blogging community came together in a way that is perhaps unique amongst American cities. In this session, longtime blogger and activist Bart Everson will recount some of the major stories that emerged from the post-Katrina New Orleans blogosphere. Please join us for this advance preview of a presentation to the American Educational Research Association.
