FaCTS 2015 Showcase and 2016 RFP
The Faculty Communities of Teaching Scholars (FaCTS) initiative is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support faculty in planning and implementing innovative curriculum and/or pedagogical projects over the course of an academic year. For more information about FaCTS in general and to see descriptions of the projects from past years, please visit http://cat.xula.edu/initiatives/facts. In recent years, the FaCTS theme has become a major focus for the university -- Sustainability (2015); Interdisciplinarity (2014); Online teaching (2013) -- and the fellows from those years have become campus leaders in those areas.
At this panel discussion, FaCTS fellows from the current cohort and from past years will discuss the projects they initiated and how their involvement in FaCTS impacted their academic lives. Many FaCTS fellows have successfully presented and published about their projects.
Also at this session, Dr. Hammer will announce the topic and present the RFP for next year's FaCTS fellowships. Attendees will be the first on campus to learn about this opportunity.
