CCE: ePortfolios in the Classroom Saturday Seminar
ePortfolios enable students to share their work -- to document their learning -- with anyone: family members, graduate school admissions committees, future employers.
In their recently published study, "Fulfilling the American Dream: Liberal Education and the Future of Work," the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) reports the following finding: "78% of executives and 81% of hiring managers find ePortfolios useful when evaluating recent graduates, versus 51% of executives and 48% of hiring managers who find college transcripts useful." (Click here to access the full report)
With Brightspace, Xavier now has access to a robust and integrated ePortfolio system.
During this half-day workshop, Xavier faculty will learn about best practices for using ePortfolios in the classroom, will learn how to navigate Brightspace's ePortfolio system, and will develop a portfolio assignment that can be integrated into a current or future class.
* Lunch will be provided.
* The workshop will be limited to 10 faculty members.
* Each participant will be compensated $250 upon completion of the workshop.
