Service Learning: A Renewal

Seedling-Young-Plants-Plant-Small-Plant-786689

Service learning enriches academic experience by fostering greater understanding of course information, one’s community, and one self. Service learning fosters the development of personal and social skills, and contributes to life-long civic engagement.

Taught a service-learning course in the past? Interested in incorporating service learning in a course? This session will focus on the creation and enhancement of service learning courses at Xavier. Comparisons and contrasts between community service and service learning, the process by which Xavier courses receive a service learning (SL) designation, and logistical support for service learning projects will be discussed.
