Strategies for Coping During Uncertain times in the Classroom and Everyday Life
In this session, Dr. Florastina Payton-Stewart will moderate a discussion with Drs. Elizabeth Hammer and KiTani Lemieux on the strategies used in their classroom to integrate the Six Key Principles of Trauma-Informed Care. Hear from our very own faculty about innovative ways each has integrated the Six Key Principles to create a safe space for our students as well as provide a voice for students to express themselves. Dr. Payton-Stewart will also speak on new initiatives being used to bring the Xavier community (faculty, students, and the external community) together for a more inclusive campus. We look forward to participants sharing some of their innovative ideas as we move forward integrating the Six Key Principles of Trauma-Informed Care into classroom practices and institutional practices and policies to promote healing and avoid re-traumatization.
